With summer coming to a sudden close on our shores, I'm feeling in home making, or should I say 'hibernation' mode right now...... Really, how can this be August?
Actually, it's a huge nudge out of necessity, as I'm the process of shaking up our slightly neglected four walls. It's a project in the making (we're at the messy decorating stage). Like clothes, it's often those little extra details that propel something fairly ordinary into something really special.
So, in order to keep my creative momentum going, I've been gathering inspiration for home accessories from our fabulous high street. Which has proved once again, style isn't necessarily about the price ticket!
5: Leather skirt £59.99 Zara / 6: Boots £49.99 Mango
As you may have guessed by now, I love nothing more than a chic monochrome outfit. And, when you add in some urban cool with a splice of leather, a go to daily uniform starts to unfold.
I've been coveting the rich burgundy red looks that were all over the A/W15 shows, but for the time being my money, and undeniably the colour of the season is going on my lips, with a bold slick of Nars semi-matte, limited edition VIP red Lippy.
Patchwork suede captures this seasons nostalgic 70's inspired mood. And like the love child of Farrah Fawcett and Jimi Hendrix, mixing vintage inspired separates with a timeless classic, makes for the perfect affair. Wear now with a denim shirt and penny loafers, and later with a black cashmere roll neck and knee boots.
